Equinox VGM is currently inviting applications for a Warehouse and Logistics Superintendent to join our growing team as the company ramps up mine operations and production.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Warehouse and Logistics Superintendent is responsible for the strategic management and optimization of all warehouse operations. The incumbent will oversee inventory control, inbound and outbound shipping, team management, and supply chain efficiency. This position will drive continuous improvement, while balancing high-level facility planning with rigorous safety and compliance standards.
This position is located at the Mine site, working on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all warehouse and logistics activities including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch
Ensure material availability aligns with production, maintenance, and shutdown requirements
Manage critical spare parts strategy to minimize downtime risk
Oversee inbound and outbound freight, including expediting of critical materials
Develop and execute warehouse and logistics strategies aligned with operational and production plans
Lead capacity planning, warehouse layout optimization, and infrastructure improvements
Partner with Maintenance and Operations for shutdown and major maintenance planning to ensure material availability
Establish and manage inventory policies (min/max, safety stock, criticality classification)
Participate in cross functional site planning meetings
Coordinate multi-modal logistics (road, air, marine) in a remote and weather-impacted environment
Manage relationships with freight providers, carriers, and customs brokers
Lead, develop, and schedule warehouse and transportation staff, conduct performance reviews, and maintain a productive, motivated workforce.
Ensure effective use and governance of SAP S/4HANA (MM / Inventory / Warehouse modules)
Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and master data integrity
Leverage reporting tools and dashboards to track and improve performance
Drive adoption of technology such as barcoding, scanning, and automation
Set and maintain comprehensive KPI’s for warehouse operations. Generate reports to provide insights into performance for inventory accuracy, critical spares availability, inventory turns, on time delivery, obsolescence and surplus reduction, etc.
Enforce workplace health and safety regulations (OHS), conduct equipment inspections, and ensure facility compliance with company and government standards.
Coordinate with procurement teams, external transport carriers, customs brokers, and delivery crews to ensure timely supply chain operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration or a significant amount of experience in a similar role.
10+ years of progressive supervisory and management experience in a warehouse, inventory control, material management, or industrial supply setting.
Proficiency in inventory software ERP systems, databases, and systems. SAP S4/HANA experience is considered an asset.
Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA (MM / Inventory modules) or similar ERP systems.
A valid driver’s license and drivers abstract required.
