Equinox VGM is currently inviting applications for a Warehouse Technician (Fixed Term) to join our growing team as the company ramps up mine operations and production.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Technician will provide support to ensure a safe and efficient operation for all areas of the warehouse and Site. In this role, the Warehouse Technician is responsible for accurate receiving, storage, issuing, reporting, and all other warehouse activities assigned to them during the construction period and into operations. The Warehouse Technician will support and adhere to all warehousing processes which comply with Equinox Gold – Valentine Gold Mine’s processes and procedures.
This position is located at the Mine site, working on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Support and assist in promoting a health and safety culture.
Be a role model for safety, health, and environment
Identify and report any potential hazards to employees or equipment.
Physically store materials in a safe and responsible manner while ensuring bin locations and quantities accurately match our Inventory Management system.
Assist in managing the delivery, unloading, and distribution of the on-site fuel supply.
Pick, kit, stage and issue materials for end-users based on work-orders for pickup or delivery.
Perform regular inventory cycle and verification counts as well as month-end physicals in accordance with Company standards and audit requirements.
Offloading and loading of transport trucks delivering freight to the mine site.
Safely operate various warehouse equipment including, counter-balanced forklift, wheel loader, telehandler & flat deck pickup trucks.
Ensure care and maintenance of physical assets including warehouse buildings and all support equipment
Understand and operate an Electronic Inventory Management Platform (SAP).
Ensuring proper documentation when working Dangerous Goods.
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Business Diploma (or currently enrolled in) would be considered a strong asset.
Supply Chain Warehouse Certificate would be considered an asset.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an Industrial Warehouse environment is required, in a mining environment would be preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a counter balanced forklift, telehandler, wheeled loader, pick-up trucks, and flat decks required.
Training and experience working with Dangerous Goods (WHIMIS, TDG).
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge and use of SAP Inventory, Maintenance, and Procurement Modules.
Knowledge of supply chain and inventory methodologies and general knowledge of mining & milling processes.
Knowledge of warehousing and goods procurement.
Strong attention to detail ensuring work is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Positive customer-service attitude.
Self-motivated demonstrating initiative.
Commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Good planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Manages personal workload to ensure completion of tasks within schedules.
Competent with Microsoft Office and data-management software.
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract required.
